This semester has seen an unprecedented demand for services at CAPS. As a result, we will be offering initial consultation and referral services only for the rest of the fall semester. Urgent appointments on a daily basis will continue to be offered. Students can still complete a request for service form on OWL and we will do our best to get you in for an initial consultation and then provide referrals and/or discuss options for continued treatment.
Other options include:
- a referral to the Community Counseling Collaborative on campus: https://caps.tcnj.edu/get-involved/community-counseling-collaborative/
- a referral to a community provider:
https://caps.tcnj.edu/get-help/caps-referral-database/ - participating in a support group at CAPS
- utilizing a peer support/hotline (e.g., Contact of Mercer County): 609.896.2120
- utilizing a professional counseling hotline (e.g., NJ Hopeline): 855.654.6735
- utilizing a teletherapy program (e.g., betterhelp, talkspace)
- encouraging use of some available mindfulness offerings: https://religiousandspirituallife.tcnj.edu/center-for-mindfulness-and-compassion/offerings/
